Brett M. Moyer

Brett is a Partner of Moyer Lewis, and practices in the areas of business law and estate planning/probate.

Business Law

Brett serves as outside general counsel for corporate clients, providing advice on the full spectrum of day-to-day legal issues. He facilitates his clients in the areas of business transactions, including the sale and purchase of corporate equity or assets; corporate formation; business succession planning; commercial lending/borrowing; employment issues; as well as reviewing, drafting and negotiating contracts. Additionally, Brett has extensive experience in construction law matters, including the drafting and negotiation of construction contracts, construction disputes and managing the process of lien perfection in Texas. Brett is a certified mediator and is experienced in trial courts and appellate courts in Texas.

  • Represented target company specializing in personnel and project management services for energy and petrochemical industries in recapitalization of company with private equity group
  • Represented provider of inventory management solutions for mining, shipping, and transloading operations in the sale of substantially all of its assets to a publicly traded company
  • Represented metal casting company in the sale of substantially all of its assets, including the real property upon which its plant was situated
  • Represented target company specializing in regulatory energy industry compliance services in the sale of all of its equity to a strategic purchaser upon completion of an F-Reorganization
  • Represented acquirer of substantially all assets of a company operating a watercraft dealership, including the real property upon which the dealership was situated
  • Represented commercial landscaping company in the sale of substantially all of its assets to a strategic purchaser
  • Represented acquirer of substantially all of the assets of an accounting firm and bookkeeping service provider
  • Represented individual owners of a company providing professionally licensed physical therapy services in the sale of all of their equity in the company

Education

Brett received his J.D. from the University of Houston in December 1999 after graduating from Baylor University with a B.B.A. in December 1996. He was licensed to practice law in Texas in May 2000.
